This project was a complete replacement and re-do of the waterproofing and drainage solution for the front of the house on a 1911 house in the Excelsior neighborhood of San Francisco. The existing front stair was compromised in its wooden frame and covered in a slippery tile that had been applied in a previous remodel. We designed a new solution that provided a new stair that was closer historically to what the house would have had in 1911 in a redwood structure with new Hardiboard siding to match the house and provide the required fire rated wall adjacent to the neighbor’s front staircase.
